Prep 10 min · Cook 40 min · Servings not given in the source
Make
Ingredients
- quinoa — 1 cup (200 g)
- water (enough to cook the quinoa ('sufficient water' in the source))
- potatoes — 3 (300 g)
- milk — 1 1/2 tbsp (printed as '1½ tbsp milk (330 g)'; the two amounts disagree - see tips)
- oil or margarine — 4 tbsp (60 g)
- salt (to taste)
Method
- Rinse the quinoa and cook it in plenty of water for 30 minutes, until the grains are very soft and mushy.
- Meanwhile boil the potatoes until tender, then drain them.
- Mash the potatoes, put them in a saucepan and beat in the milk, salt and the oil or margarine.
- Crush the quinoa in a bowl with a wooden spoon, add it to the potato and let the mixture bubble for 5 minutes, stirring.
- Serve hot.
Tips
- General practice: if you use margarine, pick one made only from vegetable fats.
