Prep 15 min · Cook 75 min · Servings not given in the source
Make
Ingredients
- quinoa flakes — 1/4 kg (printed '¼ kilo')
- pineapple — 1 (medium, finely diced)
- pineapple peel (from the same pineapple)
- sugar — 3 cups (or more if needed)
- cinnamon (for the brew, plus ground cinnamon to serve; no quantity in the source)
- clove (no quantity in the source)
- water — 5 litres (for the brew; named in the method)
- water — 1 cup (for the pineapple; named in the method)
Method
- Boil the pineapple peel with the cinnamon and clove in the 5 litres of water for 30 minutes.
- Strain the liquid back into the pot, stir in the quinoa flakes and cook for another 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the diced pineapple with 1 cup of water and the 3 cups of sugar for 10 minutes.
- Tip the pineapple into the quinoa pot and boil everything together for a few minutes. Taste and add more sugar if it needs it.
- Leave it to cool and serve with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
Tips
- General practice: stir the pot now and then while the flakes cook so they do not settle and stick to the bottom.
