  • 1 cup Ishva Kodo Millet
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers, etc.)
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)


  1. Rinse the kodo millet thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.

  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.

  4. Add green chilies and mixed vegetables. Sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables start to soften.

  5. Add the drained kodo millet and roasted peanuts. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
